Laser is widely known in the cutting application of metal materials, but many people know how to judge the quality of processing quality when using laser cutting machines. In fact, the cutting quality is usually judged from the perspective of end surface roughness, bottom burr, verticality, and seam width.

First,End face roughness

When the laser is cut, affected by the airflow and feed speed, the end surface will form a vertical (or tilted) texture. The deeper the texture, the rough the end surface, and the lighter the texture, the smoother the end surface. The roughness not only affects the appearance of the edge, but also affects the friction characteristics. Therefore, the lower the roughness, the higher the cutting quality. By adjusting the parameters such as laser power, feed speed, focal length, auxiliary gas type and air pressure, the end surface roughness can be continuously optimized.

Second, the bottom burr

The principle of laser -cut metal is to vaporize the metal instantly through the high energy of the laser and blow away the slag on the surface of the workpiece th rough the auxiliary gas. However, in the actual processing process, factors such as thicker plates, insufficient air pressure, and inadequate feed speed will cause some slag to cool down and form burrs and hang them at the bottom of the workpiece. At this time, the additional burr is needed to take additional work hours. The burrs and slag at the bottom of the workpiece are a very important criterion for cutting quality.

Third, verticality

For metal thin plates, the verticality of laser cutting can be ignored, but when the thickness of the material exceeds 10mm, the verticality of the cut edge is very important. When you stay away from the focus, the laser beam becomes divergent, and according to the focus position, cutting towards the top or bottom is widened. The cutting edge deviates from the vertical line percent, the more vertical the edges, the higher the cutting quality.

Fourth, cutting width

The width of the cutting width is the embodiment of the processing accuracy. It usually does not affect the cutting quality. Only when the outline and patterns need to form particularly precise contours and patterns within the workpiece can become an important indicator. The width of the suture determines the minimum inner diameter of the contour. The smaller the width of the suture, the more precise contours can be processed, the smaller the pores. This is also one of the important advantages of laser cutting replacement of plasma cutting. However, as the thickness of the board increases, the width of the seam will inevitably increase. To ensure stable high -precision cutting, it is necessary to ensure that the workpiece processing area of ​​the laser cutting machine is stable.
