Fiber laser cutting machine cutting head composition

Laser cutting machines are commonly used equipment by metal workers. How much do you know about the internal structure and function of the cutting head? Let’s take a look. The cutting head mainly includes 10 parts: optical fiber line, optical core, upper protective lens, collimating lens group, focusing lens group, middle protective lens, lower protective lens, ceramic body, nozzle, and focus.

Optical fiber cable: The outer coating of the optical fiber cable plays a role in protecting the optical fiber.

Optical core: the medium for laser transmission.

Upper protective lens: The lens is very thin and relatively cheap. Its main function is to prevent dust from entering the inside of the cutting head and protect the collimator lens. Because collimating lenses are expensive.

Collimating lens group: The collimating lens has a concave surface, which produces refraction. When the laser passes through the collimating lens, it will amplify the laser. Most cutting heads use an internal motor to move the position of the collimating lens group up and down to change the focus.

Focusing lens group: Focus the laser. A small part of the cutting head changes the focus through the focusing lens group. The focusing lens is also a very expensive lens.

Medium protection lens: relatively cheap, its main function is to protect the focusing lens and play a sealing role.

Lower protective lens: prevents iron slag from flowing upward during perforation and cutting, and isolates the effect of cutting gas.

Ceramic body: There are metal wires inside the ceramic body, which connect the nozzle to the sensor and transmit the data sensed by the nozzle. The ceramic body is fragile and can protect the cutting head in the event of a serious collision.

Nozzle: Both the laser and the cutting gas pass through the nozzle. Different nozzles have different cutting quality and speed.

Focus: After the focusing mirror condenses the light, the intersection point of the light is where the laser energy is strongest. Cut different plates and use different focus points. Fiber lasers are very sensitive to dust. If there is a problem with any lens, it will affect the cutting quality and speed.
